Post-Release Thoughts
Dungeon81 (Playtest Edition) » Devlog
A big thank you to everyone who has checked out Dungeon81, and voted for it in the Open Gaming Jam, we tied for first with some great games. I lost a bunch of sleep to get it done in crunch time, but I'm glad the playtest version is done and I hope folx will have fun with it!
Based on initial feedback, here is a list of possible upcoming changes to Dungeon81:
- I'm highly considering switching from "Roll Under Attribute" to "Roll Over Target Number" for a more B/X feel. Character Creation is already indebted to Knave so this would incorporate Knave's idea of Defense and Bonus scores for each Attribute. This would also simplify OSR module conversation. (This needs to be tested/confirmed but I'm mostly sure B/X's 6 stats can be easily mapped to Body/Mind/Soul; guidelines may need to be written for this)
- I also want to swap the Level spells for Leveless spells that get stronger as you level up.
- I'm also aware that the Hirelings and GM sections haven't been finished, this is on the To-Do list for the next version!
- This release is intended to be a substitute for Basic/Expert, but what of CMI? Should this be included in a later version? Don't worry you won't find any THAC0 in Dungeon81 tho!
